The land of the light (12)
It's quite a pleasure to exercise our talent for photography in Greenland. The sea/landscape is so somptuous that it's difficult not to come out with a great image whatever our experience is. -
Kangerdlua (15)
Kanderdlua is the fjord which start from Nuuk and goes up to two glaciers. We visited Narssap bay which produce a large part of the ice we can see drifting to the sea from Nuuk Harbour. -
Umanak and Kapisillit (15)
Kapisillit is a community of 100 persons NE of Nuuk. A very well protected place. Umanak was a small village/fish plan on a tiny island, closed in 1970. Since then, it become a holidays camp for some Nuuk inhabitants who maintain and improve the place. -
City of Nuuk (30)
Nuuk is the main city of Greenland. Here are some views of the town while walking around. Courtesy of Ms. Suzanne Laliberte from Iqaluit. -
Frobisher bay-part2 (15)
The ice conditions ranged from 2/10 to 9/10 when we have been caught by the tides. The Frobisher Bay is 150 miles long and it took 4 days/3 attempts to pass the ice barrage which is due mainly by a very cold winter and a SE prevalent wind for nearly all June. -
Frobisher Bay-part1 (15)
Images of the 3 attempts to sail through Frobisher Bay. As it was a cold winter, there was much more ice than predicted and the bay didn't open before the very last days of July.
